"Congress is not bothered about Modi's nomination. It is for the BJP to worry what would happen after it has named Modi its prime ministerial nominee," Sharma told reporters here.
"I am confident that Congress will win next year's polls," he added.
Sharma said he could not understand why Modi was "so restless to become Prime Minister".
"There are several flaws in the so-called Gujarat model of development about which Modi loves to talk so much," Sharma said.
Talking about Madhya Pradesh, Sharma said there was a lot of potential in the state which lay unexploited.
Meanwhile, in Indore, another Congress leader, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Sachin Pilot, said, "When Modi is unable to make a consensus for himself in BJP, how would he be able to provide a stable government to the country?"
Pilot expressed confidence that Congress would win power with full majority in the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
