"We are not so much optimistic that results of the by- polls will be in our favour party. Congress is in a very weak wicket as far as the Krishnaganj constituency is concerned. Bangaon is also not also a fertile area for Congress," Chowdhury told PTI today.
"We secured only three per cent of valid votes in the last elections. We are not in a robust condition so far in both the constituencies. However, we will be straining every nerve and will not leave no stone unturned to garner as many votes as possible," the Congress leader said.
Around 800 to 900 people from TMC and Left parties today joined Congress, Chowdhury claimed.
