"Some recent statements of the governor (referring to the Congress in the state) published in the local media seem to be politically motivated," senior party leader and MLA Satyanaryan Sharma told reporters.
He further said that the governor is a constitutional post and he should behave impartially and refrain from making political statements.
The governor should not behave in such a way as to give an impression that he is talking for a politically party, Sharma said and asked him to clarify his stand on his remarks.
During that meet, when Congress had raised the issue of caste certification of a particular person, the governor had told them to sort out the matter at their own level.
Since then, Congress is targetting Tandon.
