The Delhi Congress today launched its week-long campaign to expose the alleged "street fight" between the BJP and the AAP over Metro fare hike.
The 'Kejriwal+BJP, Stop Politics, Save Metro' campaign led by Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken was launched near the Rajiv Chowk Metro station here.
Hitting out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he accused him of indulging in "public drama" even though his government was part of the decision to hike prices of Metro tickets.
"Why is Kejriwal indulging in public drama when the decision to hike the metro fare was jointly taken by the BJP- led central government and the AAP government in Delhi," he asked.
Maken also blamed the Kejriwal government for delay in the phase III and IV of the Delhi Metro, asking "why was the Kejriwal government throttling the Delhi Metro.
He also explained some of the reasons behind the delay in the upcoming phases.
The Metro tariff hike came into effect yesterday.
The hike, which comes five months within the last one, will affect every commuter of the mass rapid transit who travels beyond 5 km, while journeys falling in the 2-5 km distance slab will cost Rs 5 more.
