Hitting out at the Centre over its "anti-farmers policies", Congress today said it will hold 'samman' rally over "withdrawal" of Land Acquisition Bill by the NDA government, at Panipat on September 20.
Farmers would be felicitated in the 'samman rally' over withdrawal" of land acquisition ordinance. It will be attended by senior party leaders, AICC General Secretary Gurudas Kamat said while addressing Rajasthan District Congress functionaries here.
Under the pressures of Congress, the NDA government had to withdraw the land acquisition ordinance issued twice. Government should not implement its anti-farmers policies, he along with PCC President Sachin Pilot said.
Earlier Kamat, Pilot, and AICC Secretary Mirza Irshad Beg, and Leader of Opposition Rameswhar Dudi held discussions with the district congress heads for strengthening the organisation up to block and booth levels.
In his address, Pilot said the public was tired of mis management of Raje government leading to inflation, rise in crime and corruption in last 22 months.
Third grade teachers' mass transfers in villages were also matter of serious concern as teaching community was up in the arm against Raje government, Pilot said.
Congress functionaries also highlighted some women and Dalit atrocities cases before the dais, according to party spokesperson here.
A three-day meeting of district functionaries will continue for next two days in the PCC headquarters.
