Cong to stage state-wide dharnas to declare UP drought-hit

Congress will stage state-wide dharnas on July 24 to press for its demand to declare Uttar Pradesh a drought-hit state.
"Dharana would be staged at all the district headquarters of the state on July 24 to press Uttar Pradesh government to declare the state as drought-hit," UP state Congress president Nirmal Khatri said.
Demanding the state government to immediately start relief works to redress the problems of farmers arising out of drought, Khatri said that the administration should also compensate them.
The UPCC president also informed that membership drive of the party would continue till December 31 after which organisational election process would start.
