Police said about 50 to 60 workers barged into the office of 'Dinamani', downed the shutters and ransacked the office, smashing computers with wooden logs.
In the melee, four employees sustained minor injuries and were rushed to a hospital here for treatment.
The daily had carried a report on Gnanadesikan 'chiding' Congress District Secretary 'Bank' Subramaniam publicly during his campaign here yesterday, police said.
Media persons staged a protest in front of the office on coming to know of the incident and criticised police for not taking action.
