Because it is faced with a dearth of leadership, Congress' fall is "inevitable", Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said while exhorting people to bring BJP-led NDA to power.
Making a scathing attack on Congress, Badal said their years of misrule had caused problems like unemployment, corruption, inflation, poverty, illiteracy, starvation in the nation, and stressed that BJP government would bring in unprecedented development in the country.
"Because of dearth of powerful leadership, an inexperienced person like Rahul Gandhi is at the helm of the affairs of Congress, due to which the fall of the party is inevitable," Badal said while speaking during 'Sangat Darshan' programme here.
"Due to the misrule of Congress for several decades, the nation is confronting a large number of problems like unemployment, corruption, inflation, poverty, illiteracy, starvation," he said.
He alleged that the Congress party had no mass base in the country because of its "anti-people" policies and said defeating Congress was "the only way to eradicate social maladies" faced by the country.
Batting for BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, the five time Chief Minister said an era of unprecedented development will usher in under Modi.
Badal also criticised Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar's remarks that Modi will never become the Prime Minister in the 21st Century but can sell tea.
"...The Congress leaders have forgotten the entire morality in the political arena and this derogatory remark reflects their myopic mindset," he said.
The Akali leader asked the people to exercise their franchise carefully so as to elect those people who had been fighting for their cause.
