He was 96.
He breathed his last at SKIMS Hospital here at 3.00 AM, the family of the veteran leader said.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
Hailing from Sopore town in North Kashmir, Kar became a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly in 1951.
He served as a minister in the state government from 1965 to 1971 and 1972 to 1975.
