Sounding the bugle for Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, opposition Congress toady said the party would be organising a 'Parivartan' rally on April 12, exhorting people to dislodge "corrupt" BJP government helmed by Raman Singh.
Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are due in December.
The party will be organising the rally at tribal-dominated Ambikapur town, a senior party leader said.
"Congress party will hold the Parivartan rally at Ambikapur district headquarters of tribal-dominated Sarguja district on April 12", Congress national general secretary and in-charge of state affairs B K Hariprasad told reporters here.
He said Congress would try to "expose the rampant corruption during the BJP rule and spread awareness about the Central welfare schemes" through the rally.
"BJP government has been indulged in corruption since last nine years and time has come to pull the plug on this government", alleged Hariprasad.
He said some BJP ministers and their relatives have been engaged in corruption. "A minster, along with his kin, is linked with a land scam in Bilaspur district but the government is trying to save him", Hariprasad said, adding that his party wanted CBI to probe the matter.
State Congress chief, Nand Kumar Patel, also present at the press conference, said the party would hold a chain of demonstrations against the BJP government from March 23 to 25 across the state.
