Congress has decided to strengthen its block level units in Rajasthan, in order to revitalise its workers and revive itself in the wake of defeats in previous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Despite all political odds and unfavourable conditions which the Congress faced in previous polls, the party workers would be linked at block levels and new enthusiasm would be created in every unit, AICC General Secretary Gurudas Kamat said today.
Kamat was addressing a high level meeting of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) here.
Congress MLAs would also raise public demands in the ongoing session of state Assembly and draw attention of the BJP government to its failures and weaknesses, Kamat said, adding the party would play a positive role of Opposition party inside and outside the Assembly.
However, in recently held Assembly bypolls, civic bodies and panchayat polls, Congress candidates have played fairly, and won at many constituencies, and due to this workers were more engergised, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, PCC President Sachin Pilot said the party would connect with every member in blocks and pay heed to their problems.
Congress decided to hold block level meetings in Kota, Bharatpur divisions this week, and later on in other divisions, Pilot said.
A feedback report would be submitted to the party high command after block level meetings, he added.
Congress MLAs including Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi also addressed the party functionaries, according to a party release.
