A Delhi Police constable and his friend have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a woman in Ranhola area of West Delhi.
The accused identified as Constable Kailash and his friend Chhote, a DDA employee, have been arrested after a case of sexual assault was registered against them on a complaint by the 30-year-old victim, a senior police officer said.
The accused were allegedly under the influence of alcohol when they raped the woman, a resident of Shiv Vihar locality in Ranhola, on July 6 night. Her husband, a private sector employee, was out of the house when the incident took place, police said.
The victim called the police control room after the incident. Police probed the matter and sent the victim for medical examination.
After medical reports confirmed sexual assault on the woman, a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the accused were arrested, police added.
