Cop loses control of car, knocks down man in Thane

A police constable, suspected to be under influence of alcohol, allegedly rammed his car into few parked autorickshaws before hitting a man standing outside a shop in Samata Nagar area in wee hours today.
The incident occurred when 45-year-old Purushottam Atram, attached to Rabodi police station, lost control of his car which hit a few autorickshaws in the area before hitting one Shailendra Jaiswal who was standing outside shop of his brother.
Shailendra was rushed to hospital and was later discharged.
Atram was arrested under appropriate sections of IPC and Motor Vehicles Act.
