Copper futures marginally up in Muhurat trading

Copper futures traded a shade higher at Rs 419.05 per kg as speculators bought fresh positions to mark the beginning of Samvat year 2071.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month February next year 2015 traded higher by Rs 3.10, or 0.74 per cent, at Rs 419.05 per kg, with a business turnover of 80 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in November edged up by Rs 2.90, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 413.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,175 lots.
Market participants said speculators enlarged position to mark the opening of the Samvat year 2071, mainly influenced copper prices in the special Muhurat trading session at futures trade here.
