These companies gave suggestions in areas like handling and storage of paddy rice, containerisation for increasing efficiency of foodgrains and storage management among others, the state-run FCI said in a statement.
Hyderabad-based Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) also gave its inputs with regard to management, human resources, finance, internal audit, besides computerisation of all operations to develop a Management Information System (MIS) for monitoring of FCI activities on real-time basis.
The committee, headed by former Union Minister Shanta Kumar, was formed on August 20 and will submit a report in three months. It will study various models of restructuring of FCI and suggest ways to improve its operational efficiency and financial management.
Next meeting of the committee is scheduled tomorrow.
