Corps Commander briefs J-K Guv on security situation

A top commander of the Indian Army today briefed Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra about the security situation along the International Border (IB), a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said.
Lt Gen S K Saini, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of 9 Corps, called on the governor at Raj Bhavan and briefed him about the security situation in the area of responsibility of his command, he said.
Vohra discussed with Saini issues relating to continuing attempts of Pakistan to infiltrate terrorists across the IB along the Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts, and the vital importance of the state police enforcing heightened surveillance in the entire hinterland on a sustained basis.
