Kavita Meena (18) died on the spot while Dhanraj Meena (22) lost one of his arms, SHO at Mandana police station Gopal Singh said, adding the injured has been admitted to the Maharao Bheem Singh hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred at around 5 PM today near the bridge, he said, adding the victims were residents Jodhpura village.
"The reason behind the suicide attempt is not clear yet, as no statement has been recorded so far. Family members of the victims have been informed," the SHO said.
The body has been sent for postmortem which will be conducted tomorrow, he said.
