According to police, 23-year-old Sumeer Rana first killed his partner Geeta, 19, by strangulating her and then he committed suicide.
Police said the body of Rana was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook.
They said Rana (23), a resident of Haridwar, was running a roadside kiosk of fast food and Geeta worked with a private telecom office and hailed from Pathankot district of Punjab.
A purported suicide note was found at the spot which spoke about the couple's live-in-relationship and they were going to commit suicide since the family of girl was not happy and wanted separation of both, which forced them to take such an extreme step.
