Couple killed, 3 injured in wall collapse

A fisherman and his wife were killed while their two children were among three injured in a wall collapse today in a coastal village near here, police said.
According to police, the couple and their children were sleeping inside their dwelling at China Veerampattinam when a wall of the structure collapsed under the impact of the debris from the fall of another wall, that of a neighbouring house, as a result of heavy rainfall.
The family of four and a neighbour of theirs in the adjoining house were trapped under the debris.
After being pulled out, all five were rushed to hospital where the couple were declared dead.
