Couple killed in suspected drunken driving mishap

In a suspected case of drunken driving, a speeding car rammed into a two-wheeler here, killing a couple returning home after visiting their bereaved relatives in Bangalore.
57-year-old Raghunathan, an iron merchant and his wife Anuradha (45) had arrived here by a bus from Bangalore and were on their way home by the two-wheeler when the mishap occurred past midnight yesterday, police said.
Passersby managed to stop the car and handed over to police one Vinodh, who was driving the vehicle, they said, adding he has been arrested.
Vinodh, hailing from neighbouring Erode District, appeared to be under the influence of liquor, police said.
