"Prabhati Lal (70) and his wife Sarju Devi (68) were strangulated to death last night. The bodies were recovered from the house today," DCP West Ashok Gupta said.
The couple had two sons, one of whom is vision and hearing impaired and lived with them, he added.
According to police, Lal was looking to sell a plot of land and had contacted several buyers in that connection.
"Initial investigation reveals that he took money from a party but did not hand over the land. This might be the reason behind the murder," he said, adding that thematter was being probed.
