Erode District Mahila Court Judge Thirunavukkarasu acquitted the accused on the ground that the investigating officer, Inspector Balamurugan had appeared in court and submitted that he had not signed the charge sheet and someone else had signed it.
While acquitting the accused, the judge directed the DIG of Police, Coimbatore and SP, Erode, to conduct an inquiry into the signature issue.
The minor girl was kidnapped by the seven persons on December 5, 2012 in Sathyamangalam taluk. Subsequently, the girl was traced and rescued by police.
Recording his submission, the judge after inquiry acquitted all the seven and ordered the DIG and SP to conduct an investigation about the signature and take appropriate action against the person who signed on behalf of the Inspector.
The judge also ordered them to provide proper details about the findings to him.
