Court directs police to register FIR in dowry harassment case

A local court has directed the police to register a case against a man and six of his family members for allegedly throwing acid at his wife over dowry demands.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Gopal Tiwari issued an order in this regard yesterday.
According to the prosecution, Renu had filed a petition in the court alleging police inaction on her complaint, filed on November 5 last year, over dowry harassment.
Renu had registered a complaint against Vikas, his father Madenpal, mother Kamlesh and four other family members for allegedly throwing acid at her on November 5 at Gandhinagar locality under Newmandi police station here.
