Special Anti-Corruption court here has directed the State Vigilance Organisation to probe fraudulent land deal in Deeli area of Jammu allegedly involving government officials.
Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Puneet Gupta, ordered that the complaint be sent to Senior Superintendent of Police, Vigilance office Jammu, with directions to proceed in the case in accordance with the law.
Vipan Agarwal had filed a complaint that land in his father Nand Lal Aggarwal's name in Deeli belt of Jammu was illegally sold by making fake power of Attorney in connivance with revenue officials.
Agarwal had filed a case in the court of Anti-Corruption Judge against Tehsildar Settlement Jammu (a revenue officer), Naib Tehsildar Settlement Digiana, Patwari Halqa Deeli, Jammu, and some private persons who sold the land illegally.
He stated in his complaint that they had prepared fake power of Attorney, fudged revenue records and plot maps in league with officials of revenue department and sold his plot illegally to several persons.
The fake power of Attorney was first allegedly made in 1984 for Bansi Lal, who does not exist, in connivance with revenue officials, Agarwal claimed.
Thereafter the land was illegally sold several times, he said.
The court said the perusal of the power of attorney revealed that neither any Khasara number (registration), Khewat number nor allotment order of any land in Deeli was mentioned, yet all the power of transfer under the cover of attorney stood obtained.
The court ordered the SVO to probe the matter.
