Court records statement of 12 Bamungachi murder convicts

A district court today recorded the statement of the 12 convicted persons in connection with the murder of a college student in 2014 and said it will announce the quantum of punishment on April 19.
The Seventh Additional District Judge Daman Prasad Biswas recorded the statement of 12 persons, convicted yesterday in the murder of Sourav Chowdhury whose body was recovered near the railway line on July 5, 2014 at Bamungachi in North 24 Parganas district.
The court said the quantum of punishment will be pronounced on April 19.
One of the 13 accused in the case was acquitted for want of evidence while 12 others were convicted.
