Court sends arrested ISIS suspect to 2 days transit remand

An ISIS suspect, who was arrested by NIA, was today sent to two days' transit remand by a court here for his production before a special court in New Delhi.
Azhar Iqbal, who was arrested by NIA as part of the agency's crackdown on sympathisers of the Middle East terror group, was produced before the competent Court.
The court has granted him two-day transit remand for his production before the NIA Special Court in New Delhi, an NIA release said.
Iqbal, a resident of Barkheda Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested in connection with a terror conspiracy.
A total of 16 persons were arrested by NIA on December 9, 2015 in a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. While 15 people were arrested by the agency last month, Iqbal was the 16th arrest in the case.
