After meeting Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Gupta, Deb said his party had demanded that Basudeb Banerjee be removed from the post of chief secretary by the Election Commission.
He said Banerjee was head of the entire state machinery and was showing "bias" towards Trinamool.
The party has also demanded that central forces be deployed in adequate numbers and that they must play an adequate role in safeguarding peace in the areas where elections are due, Deb says.
He said that the CEO's office should send stern message to the police administration that any partisan role would be penalised.
