CPI(M) hails Birganj assembly by-poll win, thanks people

CPI(M) today hailed its victory in Birganj assembly by-poll in Tripura and thanked local voters for "reposing" faith in the ruling party.
"The party politburo, now in session in New Delhi, hails the victory of party candidate. It has congratulated Tripura state committee for the victory and thanked people for reposing their faith in the party," a CPI(M) statement said.
In the election held on February 13, CPI(M) candidate Parimal Debnath trounced his nearest BJP candidate by 10,597 votes in Birganj seat in Gomati district.
