With a hope that India and Pakistan will make the dialogue process uninterruptible, Tarigami said, "we appreciate the meeting of Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif's in Paris followed by Indo-Pak NSAs meet on Sunday inBangkok."
He urged the leadership of both the countries to address the requirements of the future rather than focusing on the hangover of the past. He said that there is a dire need of constructive engagement that can reduce the level of mistrust in both countries.
He suggested that the dialogue process between the two neighbors can remain uninterrupted only if it is not held hostage to domestic politics.
"Both the countries should decide that it was time to change the environment, the narrative and the mindset and to start investing in friendship and trust-building and serious mature relations with each other rather than investing in hostility and animosity which has always resulted into disastrous consequences for the people of the two countries especially in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
"Now the time has come that rigidities must be replaced with bonhomie and both the governments should realize urgency of this commitment and make serious efforts to move forward towards a sustained and meaningful dialogue process," he said.
