Bijimol, a two-time MLA from Peermedu in Idduki district and member of the party state council, was demoted to the district council taking a serious view of her remark.
The state executive had recommended disciplinary action against for her remarks in a magazine interview that she was not been made a minister in the present government as she "did not have any godfather in the party".
The explanation given by Bijimol on the matter was not satisfactory to the party, CPI State Secretary Kannam Rajendran told reporters after the two-day council meeting.
The state executive, which met at Thiruvananthapuram two days ago, had left the two-day party state council meeting here to take a final call.
CPI is the second largest partner in the ruling LDF in Kerala.
