While the woman, who is the mother of a 10-year-old boy now, has been brought back to Delhi, the husband, identified as Rajesh Kumar (44), has been arrested, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav
According to the police, in December 2001, the woman - who was a teenager then and a class 12 student at a government school - was allegedly abducted by Rajesh, who was a former tenant at her east Delhi residence.
On Saturday, the police received a tip-off about Rajesh living at Amritsar and laid a trap. He was arrested and the abducted woman, who turned out to be his wife, was traced by a police team.
During interrogation, Rajesh, who worked as a tailor in Amritsar, told the police that he had allegedly abducted the around 14 years ago from outside her school at Shahdara and took her to Punjab.
Rajesh kept changing locations until he married the woman in 2005. In a year, they also had a son and settled in Amritsar, said police.
