Mohan Kashyap, an accused in a rape, murder and POCSO Act violation case, was found missing from jail when the routine counting of prisoners was carried out at 6.15 AM, District Jail Superintendent Vinod Kumar told PTI.
"It is yet to be ascertained as to how and in what circumstances, Mohan succeeded in breaking jail security as no objectionable material which could have helped him escape has been recovered in jail," he added.
"Intensive search operations have been carried out to trace him while I have filed a complaint with the city Kotwali Police Station in this connection," he said.
