'Croods 2' revived as animated sequel

DreamWorks Animation has confirmed the sequel to "The Croods".
The first film, which released in 2013, was set in a fictional prehistoric Pliocene era known as "The Croodaceous".
The story explores the life in the jungle, when the authority of a caveman is threatened by the arrival of a prehistoric genius, who comes up with revolutionary new inventions and uses them in search of a new home.
The sequel had been taken off the release schedule and was believed to be scrapped.
The film will now release on September 18, 2020, reported Variety.
The cast included Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman and Clark Duke, while Leslie Mann has joined the team.

The story details are yet to be revealed.
