The incident happened when the jawan, identified as Ramesh Kumar Pandey of 175 Battalion posted at Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, was riding his bike to join duty and the accused chowkidar, Lakshman Paswan and his son Sambhu stabbed him in the back after an altercation, SP Y S Ramesh said.
Pandey had stopped near a shop when the Paswans duo indulged in an altercation with him for reprimanding a girl child of their family, who had thrown a stone at him in the village yesterday, he said.
An FIR against five including the Paswan father-son duo, who were at large, was registered under the concerned police station, he added.
