"Curfew has been lifted in the five police station areas of the city where it was imposed yesterday as a precautionary measure," a police official said.
He said there were no curbs on the movement of people anywhere in the Valley.
The lifting of the restrictions led to an increased movement of people and transport in the city.
Some shops were also open in the areas in the civil lines and the outskirts of the city as well as in some of the rural areas in other districts of Kashmir.
However, most of the shops, fuel stations and other business establishments in the rest of the Valley were shut due to the strike.
They are expected to open later in the evening today as the separatists have announced a 15-hour relaxation in the strike.
As many as 85 people, including two cops, have been killed and several thousand others injured in the ongoing unrest in the Valley.
