Cyclone Hudhud: Jharkhand experiences rain

Jharkhand witnessed heavy to moderate rain as a result of the landfall of cyclone Hudhud in Andhra Pradesh coast.
All precautionary measures to deal with the situation after the cyclone's landfall have been taken in the state, officials said.
"We have taken all precautionary measures to deal with any eventuality and identified shelter homes to shift people living in catchment areas in Shastrinagar, Mango and Bagbera areas in case of emergency in East Singhbhum district," Deputy Commissioner Dr Amitabh Kaushal said.
Besides, all schools in the district have been directed to close tomorrow in view of possibility of heavy rain and strong wind, he said.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur city and its surrounding areas have started experiencing intermittent rain since the afternoon.
Sub-divisional Officer (Chandil) of Seraikela-Kharswan district, Nandkishore Gupta said seven sluice gates of Chandil dam have been opened since Friday evening as a precautionary measure.
According a report received from Pakur district, the district have experienced heavy rain for about two hours in the afternoon.
The disruption of electricity supply was also reported from the district, where no loss of property or human life was reported, sources said.
South Eastern Railway have also opened helpline in Chakradharpur division to provide information about diversion and cancellation of trains due to the cyclone, railway officials said.
