About six armed people barged into a law college in Kushalia of Masuri police station area last night. They thrashed the students and took away their cash, ornaments and belongings, police said.
At least for two hours the dacoits held the students as hostage, they said.
Superintendent of police Ashish Srivastav said the incident happened on the intervening night of September 30 and October 1, while most of the students were sleeping at their hostel rooms.
The dacoits entered their rooms and started beating them and snatched their cash, he said.
Forensic experts have taken the finger prints, he added.
