With this, the number of districts in the state will rise to 22. The government will soon start up the process in this direction, Khattar said addressing a 'Vikas Rally' organised at Dadri in Bhiwani district.
"After taking reign of the administration (becoming CM), it is a matter of great pleasure for me to declare Dadri as 22nd district of Haryana as per the demand and aspirations of people.
"It is hard to understand that why were previous parties in power afraid to declare Dadri as a district, when they had accorded the same status on Panchkula, Yamunanagar and Palwal," he said.
Khattar also announced various developmental projects for Dadri including Rs 1.90 crore for water supply pipeline in Dadri town and Rs 3.5 crore for construction of pedestrian over bridge between Gandhinagar and Grain Market.
He also announced state government would procure Bajra on last year's pattern.
He said government is spending Rs 143 crore to boost lift irrigation system in southern Haryana.
"We are also preparing schemes to store rain water in ponds especially in the areas of Bhiwani, Loharu, Badhra, Mahendragarh, Rewari and other places so as to ensure adequate water for irrigation purpose as well as to recharge the depleting ground water.
Meanwhile, accepting the recommendation of re-organisation committee, Chief Minister Khattar has approved in-principle the creation of 14 new blocks in Haryana.
With this decision, the number of blocks in the state increased to 140 from 126, state agriculture minister O P Dhankar told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
The new blocks set to be created include Dadri in Bhiwani, Ujhina in Jind, Badli in Jhajjar, Munak and Kunjpura in Karnal, Pipli in Kurukshetra, Indri and Pinagawa in Mewat, Badoli in Palwal, Dahina in Rewari, Khijrabad in Yamunanagar, Nagpur in Fatehabad, Dhand in Kaithal and Tigaon in Faridabad.

The Haryana cabinet also decided to establish the office of Commissionerate of Police for the area falling within the limits and jurisdiction of the revenue districts of Panchkula, known as Commissionerate of Police of Panchkula.
An officer not below the rank of the Inspector General of Police would be appointed as the Commissioner of Police, who would be the head of police force in the Commissionerate. The Commissionerate would be a police range, it said.
