"Such incidents, be it in Dadri, Sunped or Gohana, are consistently taking place in the country. Instead of tackling the Sunped episode, the Government chose to maintain the Sunped killings happened following old enmity.
"We demand it to take immediate action against culprits. It should see Dalits are able to live with respect in the country," CPI(ML) Delhi committee member Abhishek Kumar said during the demonstration held outside Haryana Bhawan here.
Taking strong objection to Singh's remark, Kumar said provisions of SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) act should be slapped against the Minister for allegedly making "casteist" comment.
Singh found himself at the center of a row earlier this week when he tried to defend Centre over the Sunped incident saying the Government can't be blamed "for everything...Like if somebody throws a stone at a dog".
The former army chief, however, had later clarified that his statement was not intended to draw an analogy between the Faridabad incident and stoning of a dog.
Kumar further said the Left party aims at mounting pressure on the Government until it takes action in this regard.
