Union Environment Minister Anil Dave, who passed away today, was scheduled to visit Goa between May 20 and 22 to participate in several events, a BJP office-bearer said.
"Dave was scheduled to visit Goa between May 20-22 to participate in various events, including a function to commemorate the Biodiversity Day," BJP Goa spokesman Rajendra Arlekar told reporters today.
He said Dave always favoured that the contentious issues like Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) should be sorted out by taking stakeholders into confidence.
"He had engaged Chennai-based institute to study and work out CRZ lines for Goa," he added.
Arlekar, who is a former state environment minister, recalled that the environmental concerns of Dave were well known and they reflected in his style of functioning.
