Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who has been shifted from the ICU to a special room of the Apollo Hospital here following improvement in her health condition, was doing well and would return home very soon, ruling AIADMK said today.
"Amma (as she is fondly called by AIADMK cadres meaning mother) is completely well and I was told she is on normal diet. Amma is able to read newspapers. Very soon she will return home," party Spokesperson Vaigai Selvan told reporters after visiting the hospital.
For the second day today, AIADMK cadres greeted the news of Jayalalithaa being shifted to special room by offering special prayers and celebrating by distributing sweets.
Jayalalithaa was shifted to a private room of the Apollo Hospital yesterday, nearly two months after she was admitted to the critical care unit with complaints of fever and dehydration.
Later, the Hospital said she was being treated for lung infection and added she was put on a comprehensive line of treatment including antibiotics, respiratory support and passive physiotherapy.
A team of doctors of Apollo, Dr Richard from a London hospital and specialty doctors from AIIMS Delhi attended onher.
