Under the revised policy for installation of lifts, the documents required for the no-objection certificate (NOC) include a consent for installation of lift in individual block (served by a common staircase) from owners/legal representatives of at least 50 per cent of the flats in the staircase of that block, DDA Vice-Chairman Balvinder Kumar said in a statement.
"The consent from ground floor owner is desirable but not mandatory," Kumar said.
Other documents required would be a certificate from registered structural engineer or architect stating that the structural design of lift well is as per provisions of the National Building Code, he said.
