"The Central Government has nominated Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi as a Director on the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India vice Ajay Tyagi," the RBI said in a statement today.
The nomination of Das is effective October 30, 2015 and until further orders, RBI said.
Das is a 1980 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre officer.
The Reserve Bank's affairs are governed by the Central Board of Directors.
