A passenger bus carrying nearly 100 people yesterday veered off a hilly road and plunged around 300 metres into a gorge at Chhatiwan village development area in Doti district, some 700-kilometre west of Kathmandu.
Many of the passengers on the bus, heading towards Kailali from Doti district, were returning to work after celebrating the Dussehra festival known as Dashain in Nepal.
Authorities recovered 25 bodies yesterday from the accident site.
According to the police, the bus was carrying two-times the weight it was approved to.
