Continuing its attack on a former BJP MLA of the area, Aam Aadmi Party today demanded that his entry be banned in violence-hit Trilokpuri of east Delhi.
"Delhi Police should immediately debar the entry of former BJP MLA Sunil Kumar Vaid in Trilokpuri area," the AAP said in a statement.
According to the party, AAP teams on the ground in Trilokpuri area have informed senior leadership that police presence in large numbers is helping in keeping the situation peaceful, but tension still remains, and poor people are struggling for essential commodities.
"The party is planning a peace march in the area with the help of people of all the communities to restore a sense of peace and mutual confidence in the area which has largely remained peaceful over the years," the party also said.
The AAP has also appealed to the people not to allow anyone in their neighbourhood and anybody known to them to store stones and other dangerous items, which can lead to further trouble.
"Trilokpuri MLA Raju Dhingan has submitted a report about the ground situation to top police officials, and the party hopes it will be acted upon without any delay.
"The AAP also demands that Delhi administration should start distribution of essential commodities in troubled areas since their prices have skyrocketed due to non-availability and cases of hoarding are also being reported," it also added.
