The 157th Defence Pension Adalat (DPA) was held here today and it settled 73 of the 194 cases registered, a defence spokesman said.
"A total of 194 cases have been registered during the DPA, out of which 73 cases have been settled on the spot and 121 cases are under correspondence with the authority concerned," the spokesman said.
He said Controller of Defence Account (Pension Disbursement), Meerut, Tarun Kumar Jajoria inaugurated the DPA at Satwari for redressal of grievances of defence pensioners, including defence civilians residing in Jammu district and adjoining areas.
The spokesman said infrastructural support in organising the DPA was provided by Tiger Gunners, under the aegis of Tiger division.
Officials from the Ministry of Defence, Defence Accounts Department, public sector banks, records offices and Zila Sainik Board were present on this occasion, he said.
In his address, Jajoria highlighted various projects being implemented for improving the services provided to pensioners.
He mentioned newly implemented e-PPOs (pension payment orders), e-payments and pensioners portal through which pensioners may seek clarification on their pension-related issues, the spokesman said.
He said the Adalat received an overwhelming response from the ex-servicemen.
