The total outlay for manpower development has been pegged at over Rs 306.7 crore which would go into rural digital literacy programme for 75 lakh families, and capacity building in niche areas for 2,000 trained persons, according to the 'Output-Outcome framework for Schemes 2017-18' for the Department.
The outlay for Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) stands at Rs 900 crore for FY'18, with deliverables spanning pan India residents' enrolment services, and facilitating the development of Aadhaar-enabled applications and payments.
As much of Rs 100 crore would go into cyber security projects and programmes that entails eEvidence scheme, Emergency Response System, Emergency Response Centres, besides IT Act amendments.
About Rs 745 crore outlay has been set aside for promotion of electronic and IT hardware manufacturing, that includes the Modified Special Incentives Package Scheme (M-SIPS) scheme, Electronics Development Fund, mega Electronic System and Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) policy during 2017-18. The outlay for promotion of electronics manufacturing also entails 'electropreneurs park' and incubators programme.
