Yesterday, when the villagers came to know about parts of a bovine carcass being found in the area, they blocked the Delhi-Agra National Highway demanding action against the accused, they said.
On receiving the information, police were rushed to the spot and the animal parts were sent for examination, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kumar said.
The SSP met the protesting villagers and after much deliberation, the blockade was lifted.
An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons on the direction of the Deputy Inspector General of Police and investigation is underway, police said.
"The situation in the village and adjoining areas is normal. However, two companies of PAC have been deployed in the area as part of precautionary measures. The animal parts have been sent for tests and the report is awaited," SP (rural) Ajay Kumar Pandey said.
