Delhi BJP legislators today met the new Lt Governor Anil Baijal and urged him to bring the Shunglu Committee report on AAP government's files in public domain and also sought his intervention in delay in delimitation allegedly by the government.
Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, accompanied by two other MLAs, met Baijal and suggested him to form a monitoring committee to follow up his decisions on the report.
"The BJP delegation urged the LG to bring Shunglu Committee Report in public domain at the earliest in public interest. It also sought formation of a monitoring committee for LG's decisions on the basis of the report," Gupta said.
He said that he also requested the Lt Governor that the matters in which "gross illegalities and irregularities" have been committed, should be "immediately referred" to the CBI.
The Shunglu Committee, formed by then Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, to examine over 400 files on decisions taken by AAP ruled Delhi government, submitted its report in November last year.
The delegation also sought Baijal's intervention in finalisation of delimitation of municipal wards, which they alleged was "delayed" by Delhi government despite the elections of three MCDs just months away.
"Keeping in view the urgency of finalizing the delimitation of Municipal wards, we urged LG to overrule the Delhi government for its deliberate delay in finalizing the delimitation and decide the issue at his own level," Gupta added.
The delegation included BJP MLAs Jagdish Pradhan and O P Sharma.
