The crime branch of Mumbai Police today said alleged bookie Ashwin Agarwal alias Tinku Delhi, arrested by Delhi Police in IPL spot-fixing scandal could throw light on cricketer Sreesanth's role in the betting racket busted here.
"Once we question Tinku and establish his link with bookie Jiju Janardanan, we will see what to do with Sreesanth," said a crime branch official here.
Tinku will be brought to Mumbai tomorrow and crime branch would seek his custody from the court, the official said.
His interrogation would be crucial as he was in touch with the arrested bookie Ramesh Vyas. Tinku had told Delhi Police that he was also in touch with some players.
Meanwhile, Chennai-based hotelier Vikram Agarwal alias Victor would appear before the crime branch tomorrow.
Officials also said they had established identity of two Kazakhstan girls who had been seen with actor Vindoo Dara Singh and absconding accused Pawan and Sanjay Jaipur.
"CCTV footage of hotels Oakwood and Novotel show that the two girls were with Vindoo and Jaipur brothers on May 16 and 17. We are probing if these girls have any connection with the case," said an officer.
The Jaipur brothers fled the country on May 17 for Dubai.
According to crime branch officers, they also need to question Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf as he was in touch with Vindoo and Jaipur brothers.
A letter rogatory would be issued against Rauf and Jaipur brothers to seek assistance of authorities in the other countries, an officer said.
